Instagram Business account
Social marketing needs an Instagram Business or Creator account, and admin access to it. For now, Klaviyo connects one Instagram account per Klaviyo account.
Klaviyo social marketing
I turn your Instagram followers into email, SMS, and WhatsApp subscribers you actually own, using Klaviyo's Social Auto-replies. Then I bring social engagement into your Klaviyo profiles, and send your best Klaviyo segments to Meta, TikTok, Google, and Pinterest ads, so social and email finally work together.

Why it matters
You don't own your Instagram followers. The algorithm decides who sees your posts, and a comment or a DM usually goes nowhere. Klaviyo social marketing changes that: every comment, DM, and tag becomes a chance to add someone to your email, SMS, or WhatsApp list, and to learn more about them in their Klaviyo profile.
Social Auto-replies
Followers comment or DM a keyword. Klaviyo replies in their DMs, collects their email or phone number, and adds them to the right list.
In a comment or a DM. Keywords aren't case sensitive, and small typos or emojis still work.
Comments always get a DM reply, not a public comment reply.
For email, SMS, or WhatsApp. Klaviyo checks the format.
Up to five custom questions on the paid plan, like favorite category or skin type.
Your list's single or double opt-in settings still apply.
Each keyword must be unique across your Social Auto-replies and SMS keywords.
Free or paid
Social Auto-replies are free on every Klaviyo account. The paid Social Marketing plan adds social data, the content library, and custom questions.

Pricing, as of September 2026: Klaviyo's Social Marketing plan starts at $50 a month, based on your number of active profiles, with a 14-day free trial. It launched in July 2026 and still supports Instagram only, so I check what's changed before recommending it.
The setup
Most “it doesn't work” problems come from one permission or setting. These are the pieces I check.
Social marketing needs an Instagram Business or Creator account, and admin access to it. For now, Klaviyo connects one Instagram account per Klaviyo account.
Connecting through Facebook, with Instagram linked to your Facebook Page, unlocks engagement events and the content library. Instagram Login only supports auto-replies.
If any permission is switched off, Instagram still looks connected in Klaviyo, but auto-replies won't fire. I leave them all on during setup.
Under Advanced Messaging, “Access standby channel” and “Take control of conversations” need to be on, so Klaviyo can reply without clashing with your inbox tools.
If your message settings are “Followers only” or “No one,” fewer auto-replies can be delivered. I adjust them to match what you want.
For reply-based confirmation, like double opt-in for SMS, you need a two-way SMS number set up in Klaviyo. See my Klaviyo SMS page.
Social data in Klaviyo
With the paid plan, every DM, comment, tag, and mention becomes an event on the customer's profile, next to their orders. That opens up segments and flows your email data alone can't.
Your customers' content, with permission. The Social Content Library shows every post, story, and Reel your brand is tagged in, with engagement data, so you can see what's resonating. Content can't be downloaded or exported from Klaviyo, and I always recommend asking the creator before using their post in your emails.
Audience sync
Klaviyo sends your segments to Meta, TikTok, Google, and Pinterest as custom audiences. Then you can target them, exclude them, or create lookalikes from them.
Reach people who showed intent but didn't buy.
Remind past customers why they bought.
Lookalikes created from your best buyers, not all visitors.
Check your privacy policy. Synced segments can include profiles who haven't subscribed to email, because ad matching works differently from email consent. I recommend your privacy policy mentions that customer data may be used for advertising.
How I set it up

Keywords, DM copy, the offer, lists, and consent for email, SMS, or WhatsApp.
A welcome series that matches each keyword's promise, so social signups convert.
Fans, creators, and loyal followers, plus flows triggered by DMs, comments, and UGC.
Retargeting, exclusion, and lookalike audiences in Meta, TikTok, Google, or Pinterest, plus lead ads syncing into Klaviyo.

The biggest issue when getting an email designer is that you need to micro manage everything, they ask 100 questions to do the job. Well thats not the case here. All i did was give my product, content and website, he made the rest. I could write a whole paragraph.
